A Visit to the Pediatric Ward

Nepali Jesus "Let the little children come to Me."

My Pediatric House Officer Team!
Welcome to Tansen Hospital's Pediatric ward. Let's do our morning rounds .As we visit the babies and children that are in seven large rooms, we'll round on our 40 patients.  In the wards are also 5-15 children who are orthopedic and surgical patients.

Ward #1-most ill children
Each child has at least one family member with them to assist with feeding and care.  The nurses are dedicated to this Pediatric ward and have had additional education to enable them to provide excellent care--what a blessing!

Our next room is the Nursery for babies with infection in the first month of their life or prematures that will receive the best care that we are able to provide.  This little boy weighed 1.2 kg or about 2#10 ounces when he arrived ahead of schedule two weeks ago.  We pray each day for his survival and growth.  He will stay in the hospital until he reaches about 4#.

This gives you a little glimpse of my Tansen Pediatric work.  I am thankful for the privilege of being a part of the ministry of UMN Tansen during this time.
