A Few More Scenes.........

Near the front gate to ELWA......typical African  street vendor scene!

Just beyond the gate, looking down the busy road to Monrovia - I
am told that there is quite a traffic jam in the mornings!!

A far view of the new hospital, under construction. by Samaritan's Purse.
Currently, it is a construction zone and I could not get any closer.
The new hospital will have about one hundred beds, doubling the size of the
current hospital and there are plans to begin a residency training program.
.........I hope to have more information soon!!

ELWA radio has been on the air since in mid 1950s, initially as a shortwave station broadcasting to much of West and North Africa and now as an FM station that covers a large portion of Liberia. Programs are broadcast in English and 7 tribal languages and include such familiar names as "Hour of Decision",  "Back to the Bible", and  "Haven of Rest".
The radio station was rebuilt after being completely destroyed in the civil wars.
