At the Hospital - Newborn Unit

 Susie takes care of the newborns and children at Kapsowar along with Dr. Lisa Tang, a young physician from Singapore who did medical school in Scotland and who hopes to start an Emergency Medicine residency in New Zealand soon! The NBU (Newborn Unit) has 8 modern incubators which are usually mostly filled and also some open cribs for tiny babies who "graduate" from the incubators. So far, the smallest babies have been 965 grams (just under 2 pounds) and about 32 weeks gestation. These kiddos have problems including newborn sepsis, jaundice, breathing problems and feeding issues. The majority have done well though there have been 2 who died in the last 2 weeks.

...........we are thankful for the modern incubators which help monitor the babies and keep them nice and warm!

.....we thank God that most of these tiny babies survive and can grow up to be like these 2 adorable children!!
