Kudjip At Play
The children here are so cute and friendly!!
They have only simple toys to play with but have incredible joy!!
Saturday is wash day down by the stream and these two girls are taking a break from helping their mom do laundry.
Everyone got together for a Harvest Party at the end of October. Sadly, torrential rains cut the festivities short. Missionary life is simple and people have time to develop relationships which we sometimes seem too busy for back home!
Sharing meals together is a great way to get to know both long-termers and other volunteers. Here, we are sharing our humble vegetarian fare with Dr. Erin and med student Androuw.
Erin and Dr. Bill McCoy have a large vegetable garden which needs a lot of weeding and care. Susie helped Erin a few Saturday mornings and was rewarded by some wonderful fresh PNG produce - onions, leaf lettuce, squash, green beans and strawberries. .....our diet has been simple but it sure has been good!!!!
Mamas often carry their babies around in knitted carriers called "bilums" which they sling over their shoulder or head......."baby in a basket"!
A happy mom ready to take her baby home from the Pediatrics Ward. Note the cool artwork!
The "tupela". In Pidgin, tupela means two fellows or two people and is how folks greeted us.......
"Monin' Tupela" or "Apinune Tupela"
