Fridays With Stella and Dexter; Cameroon, Here We Come

When we are in town, we enjoy caring for our grandchildren on Fridays while their mom, Jodi, works as an RN at West Michigan Heart. Today, their daddy Ted dropped them off at 8:30 and they were with us until 5:30. Stella is just  2 1/2 but already talks up a storm, spells her name, and sings "Jesus Loves Me" among other songs! Dexter turns 1 on Feb 25 and is one of the most good-natured kids ever - he is cruising, taking a few steps, and always smiling.

Next Weds, Feb 29, we leave for a 7 week trip to Cameroon. We'll be at Mbingo Baptist Hospital which will be a new place for us. After flying into Douala, one of the country's largest cities, we take a 7 hour car ride up to the hospital which is in the far northwest of the country, not far from Nigeria. The hospital has 200-300 beds and has training programs in general surgery and primary care - it will be fun to work with residents again!
