ZAMBIA - Chobe Game Preserve and Lusaka Crocodile Farm

During our time with the Murphys, we had the opportunity to visit the Chobe Game Park in Botswana - a half day on the river and a half day in a jeep. We saw tons of elephants (ha ha), some hippos, impalas, monkeys, cape buffalo, and some beautiful birds - unfortunately, no lions or tigers. ..........A day before we came home, we had a free day in the capital city of Lusaka so enjoyed a visit to a crocodile farm that also featured many very poisonous snakes including vipers, mambas, and cobras.

Elephants seem to be social, usually moving in groups.

The elephants seemed rather "friendly", allowing us to get fairly close !

Hippos like to be partially submerged and are more aggressive - our boat captain was cautious when approaching them !

A typical safari vehicle

Not sure of its name, but this bird's beauty caught our eye.

Among the many very poisonous snakes, there was one harmless snake that we could handle - guess which one of us had to play with it !?

Crocodiles in captivity are a sleepy bunch !
